This week it has been announced that St John’s Community Care Ltd. received funding from the Queensland Government for dementia respite specific services.
The funding will provide a boost to those carers who may be caring for a loved one with dementia and assist in provide a much needed break at a community level.
In a rapidly ageing society, dementia is becoming more prevalent and carer’s need more support then ever to prevent carer strain.
The centre based respite model will allow the carer to work or the ability to even to remain engaged within the community across the Far North Queensland region.
