DISABILITY SERVICES OFFICER (DSO)
38 HOURS PER WEEK – Permanent Full-time
(Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services
Industry Award 2010, SACS Salary Range Level 6)
On call allowance will be paid where applicable.
This is the ideal role for an experienced professional with demonstrated success in holistic client centered support coordination showing strong commitment to our clients’ living the lives of their choice.
You will have current experience in a similar position, and also prior experience in providing support to people with disabilities, including psychiatric and mental disabilities in a community setting, as well as vast skills and knowledge regarding work practices and legislative requirements in our field of work. You also should have a good understanding of the pending move into NDIS.
You are a great team player, a champion motivator and mentor to the team of care workers to maintain a positive culture while abiding by the organisation’s communication, reporting and client/program progress practices and procedures, by maintaining appropriate client records.
You are an ambassador of the organisation in actively engaging with clients, family members and other stakeholders in a collaborative and supportive manner.
Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position would be highly regarded.
Certificate IV in workplace training or the willingness to obtain this would be highly desirable.You will be required to undertake all aspects of coordination, including work in a team environment, monitor clients’ needs and write resident support/care plans and undertake reviews; training and supervision of support workers; working closely together with our Roster Clerks.
