St John’s Community Care Monthly Friendship Morning Commemorating ANZAC Day
At our monthly Friendship mornings held on the last Wednesday of each month. Those attending the Friendship groups gain a sense of belonging to the community, breaks down the social isolation and disconnection due to lack of transport or interaction. The friendship mornings has people from all walks of life and different cultures coming together to socialise, as well as being entertained. We provide an excellent avenue to meet other community members and an opportunity to receive vital health related information.
We had musicians Glen and Jan Best entertaining us with songs from the past and present. Everyone enjoyed the sing along.
It was an inter-generational event with the St Johns Day Care children joining us for laying poppies for Anzac Day and singing songs to our guests.
This was followed by our Guest speaker Phill Star with an Anzac speech at our Parish Hall. Mr Jason Fox our Bugle player, played the Last Post. To end of our celebration guests were asked to have morning tea, which was provided by all who attended.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join us for a beautiful morning tea, a chat and entertainment.
