Aged Care

It’s just a number after all.

At St John’s Aged Care, supporting elderly Queenslanders through their mature years is one of our key services to the community. We deliver an array of unique and progressive services to the ageing population, including in home care, allied health, podiatry, domestic assistance, events and social groups, housing, transport, and disability care services.

Our organisation is committed to an individualised client service model which ensure clients’ goals, preferences and choices are at the forefront of their own wellness and reablement.

What makes our aged care services different?

As Queensland welcomes a new ageing population and higher life expectancies, the factors and services enabling quality aged care are evolving. Notably, St John’s Community Care is delivering a range of modern services that meet a growing demand for in home-based care and a decline in informal care traditionally provided by family. The strength of St John’s Aged & Community Care Services in this environment is its commitment to continually identify ways to improve services and implement new systems and processes.

As well as providing in-home respite, St John’s Community Care also offers short-term and overnight respite in its Gordonvale, Innisfail and Mareeba centres. The cottages provide guests with individualised support from friendly, professional staff and clients love that they’re in a safe and supervised environment which is not located in a residential aged care home. In previous years, it has delivered more than 5,500 hours of Cottage Respite.

It is our goal and intention to continue providing leading aged care services that can benefit local families now and into the future. With our compassionate and qualified team of carers, we are confident that we can enrich thousands lives and provide quality comfort to all elderly persons.

What our clients have to say

I couldn’t do anything for myself when I had a broken leg, but I’ve gotten better with the support of St John’s.
The care staff do just about everything for me and have been really wonderful. The staff are very helpful, very friendly, very willing to do anything at all, and very caring. They’ve been wonderful to me – like a close friend, and you can always reach them.
